Farmor Beach and Here’s Tears trial

Rob Britton has a couple significant trials this morning at Sandown Park.

The first was Queensland sprinter Farmor Beach who had his first look at the track in preparation for the Launching Pad heats on March 26.

“His time was only steady, but in saying that it was his first look at the track and first look at the Victorian boxes. He’s only a baby so whatever he did today he’s only going to improve next week,” explained Britton.

Farmor Beach was the recent winner of the Vince Curry Memorial at Ipswich. It is a series well known for producing some of the sport’s stars.

Britton also brought 715m track record holder Here’s Tears after his disappointing run in last week’s heat of the Galaxy in Perth.

“He went very well, as well as I expected him to go.”

He set a time of 29.44 and ran home in a solid 10.55.

“I wanted to make sure he was 100%. Physically I couldn’t find anything wrong with him and the trial this morning proved that. I think we’ll head towards the Association Cup with him.”

He also gave an update on staying icon Tornado Tears who is currently off the racing scene.

“He’s back in the galloping runs and galloping well. Unfortunately he has a toe issue that’s a little slow in coming good. I know it’s not serious but it’s just taking time. I’d say in another couple of weeks, we’ll be right.”
