Toongabbie Lodge is an all purpose greyhound facility built by the Sandown Greyhound Racing Club for rearing, whelping, education and adoption at the highest animal welfare standards. It caters for the full lifecycle of a greyhound.
While all aspects are common for a typical greyhound trainer, Toongabbie Lodge is an excellent tool for those without a suitable property or experience in those areas. It’s the first of its kind and provides opportunities for anyone looking to get involved in the sport.
“What we’ve looked to create is a facility which provides quality care at every juncture of a greyhound’s life,” said CEO of Sandown GRC, Adrian Scott.
The facility is on 125 acres in Toongabbie (23km out of Traralgon) and has been a major investment by the club with the sole view of supporting and growing the sport.
“All aspects of the property are state of the art and have been built on best practice. We’re extremely proud of how it’s come together but it’s only the beginning.”
