What is the TAB Great Chase?
First run in 2003, the TAB Great Chase community program has gone from strength to strength and continues to support many organisations within the disability sector throughout country and metropolitan Victoria. Historically it has combined a great day or night out at the greyhound races with an opportunity to raise money for local community groups. The Great Chase series is all about community engagement and has seen almost $700,000 donated to community groups over the past 17 years and is seen as a significant community initiative that is embraced by both clubs and groups alike.
How does it work?
Greyhound racing clubs all around Victoria hold a TAB Great Chase community event to provide community groups in regional and metropolitan Victoria, with an opportunity to raise funds for their group and give those they work with a unique and fun day out. To get your organisation involved, simply register your details via your local greyhound racing club as per the details below. Once registered, your local greyhound racing club will be in contact with your group to establish the day for your community group to start planning.
What you get on the day:
• Free catering for your entire group
• Complimentary show-bag
• An opportunity to meet the stars of the show – the greyhounds
• The chance to cheer home your very own racing greyhounds and win some prize money
Who can participate?
If you have ever wanted a fun and engaging day out for your community group, then this is for you. The TAB Great Chase is open to any community organisation that cares for the intellectually or physically disabled members of the community. All clients and carers will be encouraged to attend their local community race day out and enjoy a rewarding day out full of fun and entertainment.
Community groups will receive a complimentary show-bag, catering at their local club and an invitation to the Final at The Meadows on Wednesday 20 October 2021, where there is a chance to win a share in $37,000 in prize money.
