Judy Hayley series kicks off today!


Sandown Park will turn pink this afternoon for the for the heats of the fourth edition of the Judy Hayley Memorial.

Restricted to lady trainers only and for grade 5 greyhounds at Sandown Park, the winner and runner of each heat will progress to the Thursday night’s final.

It is the feature event on the annual Shades of Greyhound Lady’s Night which has quickly become one of the signature events at Sandown Park.

“It’s a series we’re really proud of,” said Sandown CEO Greg Miller.

“It’s a lot of fun, the ladies get dressed up and enjoy a night out at the dogs while raising money for some excellent causes.”

The race is conducted in honour of Judy Hayley, a popular Melbourne Cup winning trainer who lost her battle with cancer in 2012. Proceeds from the night are donated to the Leukaemia Foundation and Monash Health’s Breast Oncology Unit. In the last three years, over $30,000 has been raised for various charities.

Entertainment on the night includes “The Robbie Williams Experience” as well as the sensational Princes of the Night Male Burlesque dancers direct from Crown Casino.

Limited tickets remain for the night, just $75 per head includes the above shows, four course dinner, champagne and cocktails, pampering and beauty treatments, Tarot Card readers, music, prizes and giveaways!
