She’s A Pearl and Wow She’s Fast headline Shootout

This Saturday’s Shootout field has been announced and boxes have been drawn.

The sport’s highest ever prize money earner She’s A Pearl will have her first start outside of New South Wales and has drawn box 1 in the four-dog field.

The mouthwatering clash that racing fans have been waiting for has come to fruition with superstar sprinter Wow She’s Fast also a part of the field and will jump from box 3. She’s first up since finishing down the track in last Saturday’s Topgun at The Meadows.

The introduction of exemption races was introduced this year attached to Greyhound Racing Victoria’s prize money boost for the Shootout which means McInerney and Photo Man gain a start by virtue of winning the Million Dollar Chase and Topgun respectively. She’s A Pearl was also exempt into the field by winning May’s edition of the Million Dollar Chase.

McInerney will jump from box 7 while Photo Man will jump from box 5.

The field has amassed a staggering $4.13M in prize money.

The night will also feature the final round of Sportsbet Melbourne Cup Preludes. It’s the second of five Saturday nights for the Dreamchasers Festival and it will all be live on Racing.com.

One of the highlights of Shootout night will be a race between Afghan Hounds – a popular feature of the carnival in years gone by and they return in 2022.

West Australian stars Vice Grip and Tsar Bell will be trial between races.

Next Saturday is the year’s best night of racing – Sportsbet Melbourne Cup heats. Off-track the highlight will be the Cup Calcutta! There will also be live music from The Voice’s Robbie Dolan and Jay Sierra.

The series culminates with the $1M Sportsbet Melbourne Cup on Saturday November 26.
