Money And Power produces first city win

Trainers Kellie Morrison and Justin Booker had smiles ear-to-ear last Thursday night as Money And Power claimed the first city win of their careers.

Money And Power was a five-time runner-up at city level before his breakthrough win.

“We’ve been training for ages but we haven’t got a dog to win in the city yet. Justin and I also own him – we’ve had dogs for 10 years.”

Money And Power is one of just two greyhounds they train but recently bred a litter which are now five months old.

“When I met Justin he was interested in greyhounds and I loved dogs so it went from there. And the kids love it, they’ll be spewing that they weren’t here – it was too late at night given we’ve got a long drive home.”

As November rolls on so does the Dreamchasers Festival, next highlighted by the Shootout this Saturday night. It’s followed by Sportsbet Melbourne Cup heats featuring the Cup Calcutta and live music by Robbie Dolan and Jay Sierra. The festival culminates with the Sportsbet Melbourne Cup followed by The Phoenix at The Meadows.
