Sandown Park is set to resume racing following successful remedial works over the past fortnight.
In conjunction with Greyhound Racing Victoria, a series of track works were conducted in late July following the identification of an issue with a sub-surface section of the track base. While the works addressing the track base were successful, the track surface did not consolidate as expected which resulted in a substandard racing surface.
Extensive remedial works have since been conducted to allow the sand profile to settle. The final component of the works, a light harrow to ensure an even and consistent surface, is expected to be completed on Tuesday 25 August.
Track activity will resume with a trial session on Saturday 29 August, while racing will resume on Thursday 3 September.
