Super Six shortlisted for Sandown GOTY


An unprecedented six greyhounds have been shortlisted for Sandown’s Greyhound of the Year.

Sixteen individual greyhounds trained by 12 different trainers won the 22 black type conducted in 2019 in one of the most even – and brilliant – years of racing seen at the venue.

The six finalists have won 11 of those black type races and 25 races in all, combining for more than $1.25m won at Sandown Park alone.

The Sandown Greyhound of the Year is voted on by the club’s directorate, CEO, Racing Manager and Racing Coordinator and will be announced at the Australia Day meeting on Friday 24 January.
