Rob Camilleri is confident of a successful night at both Sandown Park and Shepparton tonight.
Slingshot Hammer, a winner of 22 of his 59 career starts including seven of 18 over the 515m, has drawn box 6 in a very even Free For All. Despite the draw, Camilleri is bullish about his chances.
“He’s going OK,” he told RSN Central.
“I’m really happy the quickest beginner has drawn on his inside so I’m praying he can get a cart across and if he gets around the corner 1-2 I think he’ll be hard to hold out.”
Slingshot Hammer, a group 1 Harrison-Dawson finalist at this track and ditance, comes into the race following an comprehensive seven length victory in 22.18 at Geelong last Friday. He is rated a $4.80 chance with TAB.
Camilleri was also very confident in the chances of Immediate, trained by his partner Deb Coleman, when he lines up in the 8th race at Shepparton tonight.
