Asafa goes to the dogs!

Asafa Powell, one of the fastest men on the planet, will join some of the fastest greyhounds in the country at Sandown Park on Easter Thursday.

Powell is in Australia for the Australia Post Stawell Gift, and will fine tune his preparations for the famous event by participating in the club’s Easter Fun Kids Night.

The 30 year old Jamaican is a three time Olympic 100m finalist and has run sub-10 second 100m a phenomenal 88 times in his career – more than any other athlete in history. As well as the chance to meet one of the fastest men in history, kids making their way to Sandown Park on Easter Thursday will have the chance to ‘Beat The Bunny’ or become an ‘Owner For The Day’ and win some great prizes. There will also be kid’s rides, a jumping castle, show bags, face painters and a BBQ, and the best part of all, entry is free!

On the track, some of the best youngsters in the country will line up in the final of the $58,000 Group 2 Launching Pad, ensuring there’ll be plenty of top class action on and off the track!
