The Pink Dog gets a bonus boost!


The ‘pink dog’ will be racing with an added incentive at Sandown Park this Thursday night, with all greyhounds wearing the pink number 8 rug running for a $5000 donation to the McGrath Foundation.

Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) and Sandown Park are offering the bonus (normally $500) to celebrate the final meeting of the ‘Go The Pink Dog’ campaign, being run in conjunction with Sandown Park’s first ‘Ladies Night’ race meeting. Dubbed ’50 Shades of Greyhounds’ and hosted by Channel 7’s Hamish McLachlan and TAB’s Jaimee Rogers, where ladies will be treated to a night of fashion, music, entertainment, greyhound racing and much more.

Since its inception in 2010, GRV’s ‘Go The Pink Dog’ campaign has raised more than $275,000 to assist the McGrath Foundation to place breast care nurses in communities throughout Australia, as well as increase breast awareness in young Australian women.
