Young sprinter Allusion will start one of the fancies in Thursday’s Mixed 6/7 final after a dominant heat win.
He ran a fast 29.35 on Sunday in just his fourth career start, which was the fastest time of the meeting.
He as well as litter brother Get It Gizmo announced themselves through a Vic Bred Maiden Series at Shepparton in early May and are now stepping up in distance to take the next step in their careers.
Trainer Harry Manolitsis was delighted yet very modest in his comments post-race.
“He’s a nice pup as well, they’re both nice dogs,” he said.
“There’s not much between them, Get It Gizmo is probably a bit smarter on the track.”
Mother of the pair (Dasha) is a daughter of Outlandish who is famous for producing Bewildering, Extreme Magic, Azkaban, Elevated and Feikuai Donna.
Allusion has drawn box 3 in Thursday’s final, directly outside of Saint Destructor who was an impressive runner-up to Allusion in their heat.
