Fields have been released for heats of the 2022 Sportsbet Melbourne Cup.
They’re everything we expected them to be, boasting the biggest names on the sport’s biggest stage. The 64 runners have amassed over $10M in prize money and now face one of the biggest tests of their careers vying for a spot in the great race.
Pin up girl and Shootout winner Wow She’s Fast features in Heat 5 and has drawn awkwardly in box 7, fellow superstar and perceived rival She’s A Pearl has also come up with a tricky draw with box 5 in Heat 4.
With eight heats only the winners will progress to the $1M Sportsbet Melbourne Cup final on Saturday November 26, the box draw will be conducted following the last heat on Racing.com.
The night is supported by four heats of the Sportsbet Bold Trease for the stayers, which kick off the program and feature greyhounds like Mepunga Ruby, Untapped and Tsar Bell.
Off the track, Heats night is highlighted by the Cup Calcutta and live music from ‘The Voice’ stars Robbie Dolan and Jay Sierra. The Calcutta will be held in our View Room, tickets are $80 which includes all night street food options, beverage package (beer, wine and soft drink) and a ticket into the Calcutta. Calcutta tickets standalone are $10. Other options are available – general admission is $10.
Outside, enjoy music from Good Times Party DJ throughout the night and see special guests Yacht Rock Revival perform after the last race.

Dining options for Cup night are near capacity – the only option that remains is ‘The Dish’ ($45) which is a festival-style exclusive area and includes three beverage vouchers and a food voucher. General admission on Cup night is $10.
Special guests Stand and Deliver will perform after the last race followed by the prodigal son of Melbourne’s underground dance music scene, DJ Joel Fletcher.
