Tonk too good again

Tiggerlong Tonk’s stocks continue to rise after another impressive victory at Sandown Park tonight.

After last Thursday’s stunning seven length win in last week’s outstanding group 3 Easter Gift, the son of TAB Melbourne Cup winner Dyna Double One was brilliant again, nailing the start to lead all of the way and score by 3½ lengths in in 29.12 – two one hundredths faster than the time he set in the week prior. Amazingly, Tiggerlong Tonk paid $3.90 for the win.

Tiggerlong Tonk has now won 18 of his 33 career starts and over $185,000 in prize money, and will enter May’s group 1 Harrison-Dawson series as the greyhound to beat.

His trainer Correy Grenfell brought up a double when Yozo Bale broke his Sandown Park maiden two races later, one of three trainers to lead home a double on the night.

Andrea Dailly brought up her 112th and 113th win of 2020 with TAB Australian Cup finalist Aston Cade won impressively on his 595m debut winning 34.02, followed by Rockstar Beav who broke through over 715m at his fifth attempt.

Devon Meadows trainer Glenn Rounds also led home a double. Aston Pironi made it three wins in a row taking out the first leg of the quaddie before Fireball Friday took out the final event of the night, his first at city level 15 months after making his Sandown Park debut.
