It’s the Easter Gift re-wrapped in a stellar Free For All at Sandown Park tonight.
Five runners from last Thursday’s Easter Gift will again meet in race 8, including the winner Tiggerlong Tonk. However tonight’s race will take on a very different complexion to the group 3 final with the box draw changing the fortunes of a number of runners.
Despite Tiggerlong Tonk’s impressive victory last week, he’s been rated a $3 chance tonight with tab.com.au after drawing box 6. By contrast, Hard Style Rico was an easing $5.50 chance last week from box 4 but and was unlucky early when finishing fourth 11 lengths adrift. However, the Luckie Karabitsakos trained Shepparton Cup winner is a firming $1.85 chance tonight after drawing box 1.
Professional punter Troy Little is unconcerned about the box draw however and is leaning towards Tiggerlong Tonk to make it two wins in a row.
“The dog is absolutely airborne,” he told Gareth Hall on RSN Central.
“Snags McKenzie (box 5) is going to hopefully make a little path for him. I’m struggling to split them – one is $1.85 and one is $3 so I’m probably heading towards the value.”
