Anthony Azzopardi and Peter Lagogiane trialled a number of impressive youngsters this morning all bound for next month’s $432,000 Launching Pad series.
Heading the triallers was the brilliant Dolly Mac who won her first five career starts – including a brilliant 29.78 gallop at the Meadows – before going amiss last December. Now fully recovered, she will be one of the leading contenders for the group 2 series.
Peter Lagogiane returns to Sandown Park for another tilt the series after claiming the $150,000 winner cheque with Beast Unleashed in 2018.
Heats of the Launching Pad will be run on Thursday April 4.

Double Back (Peter Lagogiane)
Time: 5.23, 18.95
“He was a runner-up to My Redeemer three starts back at Richmond. We hope he’s the second Beast Unleashed.”
Seal The Deal (Anthony Azzopardi)
Time: 5.22, 18.92
“He’s having a good prep and this is the first time he’s been here. He was pretty unlucky in his last start at The Meadows.”
Demolition Duke (Peter Lagogiane)
Time: 5.07, 19.17
“He’s a surprise packet at the moment, he just keeps improving. I’m happy with how he’s gone as he’s only going to get stronger.”
No Vacancy (Anthony Azzopardi)
Time: 5.14, 19.14
“She’s probably going to be a run short for a ‘500’. But, she’s naturally strong, I wouldn’t be pushing her if I didn’t think she could do it.”
Boss Three Fifty (Anthony Azzopardi)
Time: 5.26, 19.06
“He’s strong, no early pace but he gets home really well.”
Dolly Mac (Anthony Azzopardi)
Time: 5.14, 18.99
“She had a bit of a prep though became sore. This is her second run back.”
