Another success story from Sandown’s Sunday meeting as Lorraine Harrowfield’s Flash Fizz took out the Restricted Wins Final last Thursday night at the metropolitan venue.

The greyhound Flash Fizz increased its prizemoney from $4,419 to $10,625 when winning the $6,206 first prize, winning in a time of 34.54s over the 595m trip.

Flash Fizz is a greyhound with a rather modest career thus far, with Thursday’s win only his second to go with seven placings from 19 starts.

Trained by Lorraine and Robert Harrowfield, whose kennel only consists of two racing greyhounds at the moment, Flash Fizz provided a massive highlight for the Colac couple.

“It was such a thrill, he always tries hard and having a couple of friends there made the win even better,” Lorraine said.

The Harrowfield’s have been involved in greyhound racing for some years but have mostly been involved in a hobby capacity but since Lorraine has retired, they are expecting to have more time on their hands to care for more racing greyhounds.

Of the win, Lorraine said that she received well wishes from many in the industry after the win and was elated that she was able to share it with her husband and friends.

“It’s just a great thrill for anybody to go down there on a Sunday and everyone was so happy for us when we won on the Thursday. The participants get right into it,” she said.
