Where world class racing meets first class hospitality

We offer family friendly dining on race nights and spectacular sit-down three course dinners with entertainment on feature events. Check out our racing calendar.

November

Undoubtedly the most prestigious race of the year with owners and trainers aspiring to compete for the Holy Grail of greyhound racing – the Sportsbet Melbourne Cup. Run over 515m, the track record is held by Aston Rupee who ran 28.79 seconds in 2021.

March - April

The Launching Pad series at Sandown Park is a premier slot-style race for young and upcoming greyhounds with a $400,000 final. The event features heats, semi-finals, and a high-stakes final, often including consolation races for those who miss the final.

May

The Sportsbet Sandown Cup has steadfastly gained a reputation for the world’s premier greyhound distance race (715m). First run in 1964, the Woolamai Cup (as it was known then) was won by Briar View. The Sandown Cup attracts a huge crowd as trainers and owners compete for the Club’s namesake trophy.

November

The Group 3 Shootout at Sandown Park is an elite four-dog invitation race for the fastest greyhounds, held in November. It’s a key feature of the Dream Chasers Festival, part of a massive night featuring the G2 Laurels and Melbourne Cup preludes.

Toongabbie Lodge is an all purpose greyhound facility built by the Sandown Greyhound Racing Club for rearing, whelping, education and adoption at the highest animal welfare standards. It caters for the full lifecycle of a greyhound.
