The Sandown Community

The Sandown Greyhound Racing Club is a community based club drawing the majority of our attendees from the local area.

Greyhound racing is an integral part of the sporting landscape and Sandown Park has grown to become the world’s home of greyhound racing.

Locally, it is estimated that the activites of the greyhound racing industry generate a direct spending benefit of $8.5 million in the City of Greater Dandenong. Nearly 55% of this expenditure impact is driven by the activities of the Club.

We see growth and prosperity of the sport as closely aligned with it’s relationship with the local community.

The Club makes enormous contributions to its local community. From feature events for a good cause to grants supplied by the Greyhound Community Fund – supporting local clubs, groups and causes.
