Ennis opens up on tonight’s team

Jamie and Brooke Ennis will come to Sandown Park tonight with six runners, more than what we typically expect from their boutique kennel.

Jamie joined Gareth Hall on RSN Central’s Form Express this morning to discuss all of their runners plus his best plays for the program.

Race 1, Koko Kardash (5) and Sneakin’ Sally (8)

“Koko Kardash is probably a place bet in this race. I’ve got a massive opinion of Green Blazer (2) and I don’t think there’s much speed around him. The other one we’ve got in the race is Sneakin Sally, I think she’ll cover up a few early by coming across at the start, she’s got a bit more pace than she’s been showing of late. Koko Kardash won last week in 29.89, she’s better than that and I think she can run a place, but Green Blazer is a good one on the up.”

Race 4, Unreal Ethics (4)

“He begins as well as you do of a morning Gareth, very ordinary. His box manners are horrible, he’s only begun well once in his three starts down here (in Victoria). Earn The Answers (6) has the most ability in the race, he’s probably a safer bet at even money than what my bloke would be.”

Race 5, Rhonda Lilly (1) and Look Fancy Nancy (6)

“Rhonda Lilly has been drawn awkwardly in her past couple, she does draw a lot better tonight but $2.80 is too skinny for mine, but in saying that she would be the pick of my two. Look Fancy Nancy has had three or four runs back from a long spell and is just about ready to hit form, she can run a place in this, if she gets out to $3 she might be a play at those odds.”

Race 12, Got The Torque (3)

“Lakeview Max (6) hasn’t raced for a while, I’m not sure where he’s been but there’s good money for him this morning which would suggest he’s going alright. We haven’t had Got The Torque for long but he’s shown a fair bit of ability in his trials, so I would say that if Lakeview Max wasn’t to win Got The Torque is a winning chance.”

Jamie’s bests?

“If Look Fancy Nancy got out to $3 the place, I would be happy to have something on her. I think with Got The Torque you could take him in a quinella with Lakeview Max.”

“I’m a big fan of Green Blazer. If it was at The Meadows I’d probably declare him but he’s had one run at Sandown and he was a little bit off, if he improved on that I’d say he’d be hard to beat.”

The good chances in my eyes…

Race 1, Invicutus Jaxson (6)
Race 4, Earn The Answers (6)
Race 10, Mepunga Reject (4)

The Free-For-All (race 8) is the best race on tonight’s card and Do It (2) is the favourite. I spoke to one of his owners this morning, Jarrod Sharp, he was bullish of Do It’s chances but wouldn’t be taking him one out in the quaddie. He made it clear that given the moderate box manners he needs to avoid Cha Cha Charlie (1) early. Do It’s trainer Jeff Britton was on RSN this morning to discuss his line up – click here to hear what he had to say.

It’s a good night of racing here but also around the country. The Gold Bullion (race 8) at Albion Park is a cracker and features superstar sprinters Shima Shine and Tommy Shelby, while Here’s Tears and Sunset Bourbski are in the staying feature.

At Angle Park local star Shadow Mist steps out (race 8) and we also see Mepunga Isla (race 5) ahead of her crack at next Saturday’s Rookie Rebel at The Meadows.
