McKenna heats: Christo steps up in style

Three heats of the G2 McKenna Memorial (595m) were held tonight at Sandown Park.

True Detective (Jeff Britton) brought his A-Game to the table in the first heat, and he needed to given the pressure on his heels throughout from of his in-form kennelmate Weblec Ace.

The second heat was a one-act affair with young gun Thriving (Vince Tullio) leading virtually all the way in 34.08sec. It was the 27 month old’s daughter of Moreira’s sixth win from 11 starts.

And in the final heat the classy Christo Bale (Mark Delbridge), pictured above, stepped up from sprinting ranks to score a powerful win in 33.90sec, making him the fastest of the three heat winners.

The McKenna Memorial Final will be held next Thursday night.
