Zipping Truvy trials ahead of RSN Sandown Cup heats

Zipping Truvy has completed her preparation for the RSN Sandown Cup heats with an outstanding trial this morning at Sandown Park.

She jumped from 715m boxes and was pulled up on the arm shortly after the third split covering around 550m. She set times of 6.09, 15.62 and 30.25. To put that into context, her third split was one length faster than Cup favourite Mister Harlewood when he set his best time (41.54) at the track. Here’s Tears set 30.02 when breaking the 715m record in January.

“I’m very happy with her trial. She’s exactly where she needs to be heading into Thursday night,” said trainer Glenn Rounds afterwards.

Later in the day Zoom Top winner Just Terms also had her final hit out ahead of Thursday’s heats. She ran 595m and set a time of 34.24 (9.22, 23.36).

“She’s gone well today. Obviously better suited over ‘700’, the longer she goes the better she’s going to be,” said kennel representative Neil Jones.

The Ray Henness trained Banga also trialled over 595m and stopped the clock at 34.04 (9.39, 23.38) getting home in a very strong 10.66.

Zipping Truvy is $7 with TAB to win the RSN Sandown Cup, both Just Terms and Banga at $18 – click here for the latest market.
