Harlewood continues Cup charge

RSN Sandown Cup favourite Mister Harlewood (pictured with Damon Donnelly) continues his preparations in this Thursday’s night’s RaceWith.com.au Special Event over 715m.

Mister Harlewood has won all three of his starts since stepping up to the longer journey, two of which at Sandown Park which were the second and third fastest times this year over the distance.

He’s drawn box 2 and is rated a $1.85 chance with TAB.

“Since he stepped up to the staying ranks he’s had trouble free runs and been able to wheel out in-front, it’s been good,” said Britton.

“He’s pulled up really well after each run. After the first one I was curious as you never quite know how they’re going to go second up but he’s been great. He’s pulled up well again after Saturday night’s win at The Meadows.”

Britton also has star stayer True Detective in the race Although drawn the widest alley Britton is optimistic for his other hope in the race True Detective.

“He’s been good for quite a while now. He only needs the right run and he’ll have a chance.”

As talented as they are they won’t want to be making any mistakes. The race also features 2019 RSN Sandown Cup runner-up Ella Enchanted and track record holder Here’s Tears who trialled last week.

All will be angling towards the heats of the world’s greatest staying race on May 21.

This Thursday night will also see heats of the Sapphire Crown for the country’s finest female sprinters. It’s just week 1 of what is set to be an enormous May-June period at Sandown Park and The Meadows – click here for the dates and details of all feature events.
