Camilleri and Coleman team continue to fly

The Rob Camilleri and Deb Coleman team further enhanced their sensational winning strike rate last night at Sandown Park.

They won two of the three races they were engaged in as Zipping Sullivan narrowly won Race 9 while Zipping Lena dominated Race 10.

Since last Wednesday (March 25) they have won 17 races with a further 10 placings from 33 starters. That equates to a winning strike rate of 52% and place rate of 82%.

“We’re having a good run at the moment, a bit of luck too!” expressed Camilleri.

He acknowledged their team isn’t filled with group class sprinters but as we see so often their greyhounds are placed to perfection.

“We don’t race them all in the city because they’re not all likely to win. We nominate them where we think we can get a return for the owners.”

In late February their kennel was one of the first to experience the canine virus that swept across the country. They took a longer hiatus from racing than most to give their greyhounds the ultimate freshen up.

“I think that break has contributed to why they’re going so well at the moment.

“We know runs like this don’t last forever, so we’re enjoying it while we can.”

Also on the night 2019 TAB Melbourne Cup hero Whiskey Riot won with ease in the night’s Free-For-All. Anthony Azzopardi said that ‘Red’ will now be set for next Thursday’s Easter Gift.

Earlier in the card Shepparton Cup winner Hard Style Rico was brilliant on his Sandown Park debut and set the fastest time of the night with a 29.31.
