Brilliant Sydney brothers trial ahead of Launching Pad

Jason Magri’s exciting litter brothers Zipping Zeek and Zipping Sultan rounded out their preparations for the $420,000 Launching Pad series with impressive trials in blustery conditions at Sandown Park this morning.

Zipping Zeek is a winner of five of his eight careers starts including a brilliant 29.63 last start victory at Wentworth Park, trialled 29.35 (5.17, 18.91) in his first look at the View Road circuit.

“I was happy with his run,” said Magri

“He came out nice, railed good, found the line good, I was happy with the trial.”

Zipping Sultan ran a slick 30.26 at Richmond in his last start – his fifth win in six career starts – trialled in a solid 29.51 (5.23, 18.93).

“He blew the start, and only went 5.23 early but he handled the rest of the trial nice. I’m hoping they’ll both find a bit off the trial.

“If they can knock a couple of tenths off each they’ll be very competitive in the heats.”

Zipping Zeek and Zipping Sultan will join some of the country’s best young greyhounds in the heats of the country’s only sweepstakes series to be run on Thursday 26 March.

Another rising star, Nangar Rust, will trial between races on Thursday 19 March after reportedly running 28.95 in a trial after the race meeting on Sunday 15 March.
