Jason Sharp discusses his chances

Jason Sharp joined Gareth Hall on RSN Central this morning to discuss the chances of his runners engaged at Sandown Park tonight.

Between Jason and his wife Jessica, Team Sharp will have seven runners lining up for this evening’s card and Jason believes Red Rochelle is the one to back.

“Red Rochelle over the distance will be in it a long way,” he said.

“She’ll lead for a long way into the race, it’ll just depend on what happens with the Zipping dogs (Zipping Galon and Zipping Murphy) can run her down. She’s our best chance for the night.”

TAB has installed Red Rochelle the $2.40 favourite for the 715m event, due to jump at 9.22pm.

Other highlights on tonight’s card include dual group 1 winners Neo Cleo and Dyna Patty – two of the country’s premier female sprinters – will meet in the Free For All over 515m (race 8, 8.37pm).

Earlier, Hooked On Scotch will jump as the long odds-on favourite in race 4 (7.09pm) on the back of his stunning 29.087 victory last Sunday. The run was the fastest at Sandown Park since Poke The Bear ran 29.017 in December 2018, and was the fastest Provincial grade win since Bekim Bale’s track record gallop in September 2011.
