Punters clean up on Speed Star VII

Speed Star VII was a punting extravaganza and it produced the biggest night of wagering the format has seen.

The event took the fancy of some big players with bets as large as $10,000 taken by tab.com.au throughout the night.

“There were some big wagers that saluted with one punter placing $10,000 at $1.35 on Bernardo win the match race against Wynburn Cutie, while another had $10,000 at $1.33 on Rippin’ Sam to win the Speed Star over 715m,” explained Trent Langskaill (@trentlangskaill), tab.com.au’s Wagering Media Officer.

“Another customer finished the night favourably after putting a $7000 Multi at $1.56 on West on Augie and Big Flood to win their match races in the Sky Racing event over 515m.”

Punters seemed to have the upper hand with 13 of 18 matches won by clear favourites, with the other two matches jumping with very little to separate runners.

“The majority of favourites won their match races. Favourite backers were also on the money with the overall winners of each event – Blue Striker ($11) was the only roughie to win an event.”

The Speed Star format provides an opportunity to host many unique betting markets. See results of prominent exotic fixed odds offerings below.
