Winners aplenty in Speed Star extravaganza

The Speed Star proved to be a punting extravaganza with several big winners throughout the night.

Tab.com.au had 46 fixed odds markets on offer, covering all 5 races and 20 matches, and included a host of special markets, whetting the punting appetite of greyhound form aficionados and casual fans alike.

Head-to-head betting proved to be the most popular option on the night, and despite a slow start for favourite backers, 12 favourites saluted including seven of the last 8 favourites. While four of the five favourites in the overall markets were successful, Poke The Bear’s defeat by Dyna Patty meant it wasn’t all bad news for the bookmakers, and while Tornado Tears was dominant in his victory in the 595m Racecallers event, he had eased from $1.50 to $2.05 as Dyna Chancer was backed from $9 into $4.

There were a number of large bets placed throughout the meeting with tab.com.au, including the following big winners:
$9000 Tornado Tears @ $1.20 H2H
$7000 Wise Ricciardo @ $1.65 H2H
$5000 Sir Jay Jay @ $2.20 H2H
$4500 Honcho Monelli @ $1.60 H2H
$4000 Dyna Chancer @ $1.30 H2H (pictured above)
$3000 Go Seek Ricciardo @ $1.50 H2H
$2500 Benali @ $1.50 H2H
$2400 Dyna Chancer @ $1.30 H2H
$2000 Quick Jagger @ $1.30 H2H
$2000 Wise Ricciardo @ $1.80 H2H
$2000 Myrniong Corner $1.60 H2H
