Elevated sets new Speed Star time standard

This afternoon Elevated launched herself to the top of the Speed Star 515m standings with a breathtaking 29.116 win.

She speared out of box 8 and crossed the field to lead clearly. She then set a fast 18.76 to the second split before running home in a very strong 10.38.

Elevated’s trainer Harry Manolitsis (pictured with handler Vince Tullio and Mario Briganti) was up in the grandstand watching on, once she set her back split time he said “she’s going to go quick here.”

Moments after the win the Bill Collins Speed Star was on everyone’s mind as the run set a new time standard.

Elevated now sits at the top of the 515m time standings, forcing Aston Dee Bee to 2nd with his 29.182 followed by Quick Jagger and Up Hill Jill.

Elevated is a daughter of Outlandish who produced Extreme Magic and two-time Speed Star winner Bewildering.

The Bill Collins Speed Star will be run on Thursday 10 May and will see 40 greyhounds contest 20 match races with just under $200,000 in prize money up for grabs. Matches will be run over all three racing distances.
