Johannsen wins trip to Bali

Elaine Johannsen is on the verge of booking a trip to Bali after she won last night’s major prize for lady trainers.

All trainers engaged in the Judy Hayley Memorial series were in the running with their name up on the big wheel, the trip was up grabs along with an additional $5000 in spending money.

“This is amazing, I’m going to take my whole family,” said Johannsen following the wheel spin.

Johannsen plays a strong role in the night’s events presenting a bouquet to the Judy Hayley Memorial winner. She says the occasion means a lot to her and her peers.

“It’s a great night to celebrate and remember the life of Judy, she was very special to us all.”

The “Frock ‘n’ Roll ‘n’ Party” night saw Sandown Park decked out in pink in celebration of women’s contribution to the sport of greyhound racing. Several fundraising activities were held throughout the night, with approximately $11,000 raised for Ovarian Cancer Australia and Safe Steps.

The Judy Hayley Memorial was the feature event of the club’s annual Ladies Night and was won by True Talent for trainer Seona Thompson. Click here for race summary
