Bewildering scratched from Shootout

Dual Speed Star winner Bewlidering has been scratched from the Shootout after suffering an injury in a trial yesterday.

Widely regarded the fastest greyhound in the country, Bewildering was rated a $2.20 chance with TAB after drawing box 1 in the $25,000 winner-takes-all event.

“I could tell straight away during his trial he wasn’t right,” said his trainer Seona Thompson.

“I got (greyhound vet) Barry Haywood out to look at him as soon as I could, and unfortunately he’s strained his hock. It’s not career threatening or anything like that, but he’ll need a bit of time off.”

Sale Cup winner Quick Jagger will take Bewildering’s place in the four dog event.

The group 3 Shootout will be run on Monday 1 January. Reigning Melbourne Cup winner Aston dee Bee is the current $1.50 favourite to win the event, click here for the latest TAB market.
