Shootout nominations are in!

The Sandown Greyhound Racing Club has received five nominations for the $25,000 winner-take-all group 3 Shootout.

Australia’s fastest greyhound Bewildering heads the list and is exempt into the four dog spectacular after winning September’s Speed Star. His best time of 29.03 stands as the fastest of 2017 and one of the fastest of all time at the track.

Kennel mate and TAB Melbourne Cup winner Aston Dee Bee has also been nominated. He holds a best time of 29.12 and rounded out his preparations yesterday at Shepparton with a blinding 28.91 over 450m.

Veteran sprinter Black Mumbo hopes to line up in yet another feature race at Sandown Park. He holds strong claims having ran fast times on multiple occasions throughout the year.

Young star Shadale and Cannington track record holder Quick Jagger round out the five nominations.

The field will be finalised and released today while the box draw will be conducted during this Sunday’s race meeting. The Shootout will be run Monday January 1.
