Fanta faultless in Bold Trease heat

Fanta Bale continued her quest for $1M in prize money last night with a dominant win in a heat of the Bold Trease.

Unsurprisingly Fanta Bale sprung out of box 3 and was quick to set up her race winning break. She built a big lead and maintained the margin throughout to win by 4¼ lengths in 41.78, the fastest of the four Bold Trease heats.

“She was able to run her race and find the front straight away. You know they’re going to come at her but she had enough in the tank,” said trainer Rob Britton post race.

The win took her prize money tally to a staggering $994,170, meaning she only has to run a place in next week’s $145,000 group 1 final to become the third greyhound to join the $1M club.

“I just hope she can run a great race.”

Zipping Lady was gallant behind Fanta Bale and also advances to next week’s final.

Ebby Ripper won heat 1 in typical fashion swamping the leaders late to win in 41.89. Classy Western Australian stayer Petunia Monelli finished just two lengths behind also cementing her spot in the final.

Rockoon lived up to the hype surrounding his staying debut to win heat 3 in 41.92. The striking white and black star stunned punters when finding the lead early before putting pedal to metal to defeat Packey Keeping by 6¾ lengths.

Queenslander Champagne Sally led virtually all of the way in the fourth and final heat. She held off a late challenge from Western Australian visitor Moment To Jive to win by a length.

Box draws for both Bold Trease and TAB Melbourne Cup finals will be conducted tomorrow at Sandown Park live on Sky Racing 1 and RSN927 from 10:30am.
