Who is the GOTBA?

The $17,000 GOTBA Cup is the feature event of the GOTBA SupaNite at Sandown Park tomorrow night, but who is the GOTBA?

The Greyhound Owners, Trainers and Breeders Association of Victoria represents its members on a range of GRV and industry bodies, as well as assisting members with personal racing issues such as RADB hearings, VCAT appeals, permits, license applications and other animal welfare issues. Run by a volunteer directorate elected annually by its members, the GOTBA also assists in accessing Helping Hand Fund applications, and is represented on the Victoria Greyhound of the Year and Hall of Fame panels.

GOTBA is led by third generation greyhound trainer Sandra Reed, and the Executive consists of members that not only have extensive experience as breeders, trainers and rearers, but also from a diverse business background.

As the only recognised greyhound racing participant association in Victoria, participants are strongly encouraged to join GOTBA. The more Members the Association has, the stronger the message that can be delivered on critical issues affecting its members and their greyhounds. Membership is only $20 per year for a single and $30 per year for a couple with discounts for 3 year Memberships. Membership applications can be made at www.gotbav.org.au.
