Sandown Park Preview: Love is in the Air

Metro greyhound racing gets underway at 7.05pm and I’ll be opening the pocket immediately in the maiden final over the 515m in the first. Marley Bale looks to have a stack of ability based on her gutsy second placing on debut when she was posted outside the speed throughout (Replay). With speed on her inside and a wide runner her out side, the Andre Dailly prepared youngster looks set to crack her maiden and fill the pockets of the punters.

Dropping in class, Love Affair (pictured) looks set to storm home to victory in fifth of the night. After competing against the likes of Sweet It Is of late, she looks set to relish the class drop and with her trademark powerful finish she should be winning. She placed two starts ago (Replay) and a repeat of that performance will have her winning on Thursday night.

Race 6, the Sky Racing fifth grade final looks a cracking race of rising talent. At least half the field are capable of breaking 29.50 and I wouldn’t be surprised if a few future top line sprinters come from this event.

Evers Bale flew home when saluting at The Meadows two starts ago (Replay) and his 600m debut was nothing to sneeze about after winding up second with a strong late run (Replay). He only needs to gain a clear passage in the initial stages to play a big part in the finish. I can’t wait to see this promising type get up over the staying trip in which I think he’ll race very, very well.

The free for all looks a sensational race with probably the best depth seen in a free for all for the at least the past few months… I think any of the eight could win without too greater surprise.

Toward the end of the meeting I’m keen on Dyna Tiber and Full On Bling, who should both go well at relatively short prices.

That wraps up this Thursday night’s preview. Good luck and happy punting, folks.
