Sound smart to your friends:

  • The winner of the Victorian National Sprint Championship will represent their state in the grand final on Saturday 22 August. Fernando Bale will progress as the AGRA Wildcard (as Australia’s highest ranked greyhound) regardless of where he finishes. If Fernando Bale wins, Lamia Bale will join him in Sydney as the AGRA Wildcard
  • The last time Fernando Bale jumped from box 7 at Sandown Park (15/1/15), he ran fourth behind Margins which will jump from box 3 in tonight’s final
  • Lamia Bale is the only other finalist to defeat Fernando Bale (28/2/15 at the Meadows). She was runner up, beaten 1.5 lengths at their last meeting at Sandown Park, the group 3 Bill Collins Memorial on 21/5/15
  • Kayda Shae is widely tipped to defeat Fernando Bale. He will wear the red for the first time tonight
  • The last greyhound to defeat Fernando Bale, Secret Spell, was trained by Kelly Bravo. Kayda Shae is also trained by Kelly Bravo
  • Kayda Shae (25 months) is the youngest and least experienced (13 starts) finalist. Mepunga Armagh is the oldest (46 months) and most experienced (70 starts)
  • Mepunga Armagh and Weston East are the only greyhounds in tonight’s final yet to win at group level. All finalists have qualified for at least two group finals
  • The finalists have combined for more than $1.9m in prize money.
