Race Caller’s Rage

As the weather cools down, the racing at Sandown Park heats up this Thursday night with the GRV VBIS maiden final, the Group 3 ‘race callers’ over the 595m and the Group 3 ‘Lizrene’ for the stayers over the 715m as the feature races on what looks a tip top night programmed.

The first of the night is due to kick off at 7.08pm and I’m planning on getting the punters punting almost straight away as I’m keen on Berry Blitz in the second of the night. The strong daughter of the great Bekim Bale should appreciate the massive class drop and she only needs to find a position toward the leaders early to be winning here. She showed classy mid race pace against a much more credentialed field here last week (Replay) and based on that I think will be winning with the large class drop here.

Sisco Rage (pictured) lines up in the Group 3 ‘Race callers’ from the two alley. Drawn along side the expected leader Lamia Bale, I expect Sisco Rage to track through into a lovely trailing position with a slow beginning wide runner his outside and if he can repeat a similar performance to his superb second to Fernando Bale recently (Replay), he will be the one to beat.

The top class stayers line up in the Group 3 ‘Lizrene’ and despite the Sandown champ Sweet It Is drawing box one, I think Lady Toy poses as the one to beat. With some sharpness gained in her last start fourth here in which she flew home over a shorter distance (Replay), I believe she can sit on pace and prove too classy against a super field of class.

With what looks to be a very classy program wrapping up at 10.58pm, I think Earl Bale can send the punters home on a winning note thanks to the lovely box draw and decent drop in class.

Good luck and happy punting!
