Galea’s unstoppable Rage

Last night Sisco Rage produced a faultless display of speed and strength, when taking out the General Destini @ Stud Grade 5 final.

Uncharacteristically, Sisco Rage hit the ground running out of box 1 and led his rivals first time past the post. From that stage onwards he was unchallenged, going on to win by 3 lengths in a fast 29.26.

Full of smiles post race, trainer John Galea was surprised more than anyone by the performance.

“He never comes out like that,” said Galea.

“He came out of the box poorly last week in his heat, but given his racing style he’s able to make his own luck.”

The run underlined Sisco Rage’s versatility, having won over all three distances at Sandown Park.

“He’s won here over 715m here before – he would of ran well over any distance tonight.”

“I don’t know where I’ll take him to next, I’m not one to plan ahead,” Galea laughed.

The $12,000 first prize escalated his prize money tally to $114,655.

Earlier in the night emerging talent Astronomic added yet another win to his already impressive record, having taken out the GRV Vic. Bred final.

Trained by young school teacher Stephanie Cameron, the 2-year-old claimed his 10th win in just his 13th career start, having led all the way in 29.60.
