Latest round of renos begin

The Sandown Greyhound Racing Club today commenced its latest round of venue works that will further enhance customer experience at Sandown Park.

The works centre on the western end of the grandstand and incorporates the redevelopment of the old betting shed into a prime viewing and function area, installation of an escalator, and the introduction of a foyer within the grandstand.

Once completed, the revamped venue will blend seamlessly into the adjacent Entertainment Centre, making Sandown Park not only country’s premier venue for greyhound racing, but an attractive facility for a range of special events.

While racing, dining and spectator facilities are unaffected during construction works, there will be changes to vehicle access particularly for trainers on trial days. The club apologises for any inconvenience, and asks for your patience as we invest in improving facilities for all patrons.

The new area is expected to be completed before the running of the $600,000 TAB Melbourne Cup on Friday 21 November, with the escalator to be installed early in 2015.
