Whelped in March 2007, Symmetry showed a spark of freakishness in his early racing days in New South Wales under owner Helen Ivers.
After winning four of his six starts in NSW, all signs led to a star in the making.
Symmetry caught the eye of one of Australia’s leading trainers Rob Britton and made the move to the Lara based kennel at almost three years of age.
“When he arrived at the kennel we immediately entered him into distance races – we were convinced he was going to be a top line stayer,’’ said Britton.

Just over a month after moving into the Britton kennel, Symmetry claimed his spot in the invitational Group 1 Super Stayers in just his 11th race start, sending an ominous message to the greyhound racing world that a new star had arrived.
Symmetry competed in 10 Group races throughout his illustrious career, including a second placing in the 2011 Melbourne Cup (won by El Grand Senor) six months after reaching the Sandown Cup final.

Symmetry won the Group 1 Sale Cup at almost 4 years of age, before claiming the Group 1 Rookie Rebel just two months later.
After competing in a Group 3 race at Angle Park, he won a veterans race by at staggering 11 lengths at Cranbourne, then two weeks later ran third in the Harrison-Dawson.
Symmetry was not the only successful chaser to come out of the Flying Penske x Classy Creek litter, Nellie Noodles is a litter sister to Symmetry and was also trained by Britton, and he regards her as one of the best greyhound’s he has ever trained.
Nellie Noodles still holds two track records at Shepparton and the more notable 725m record at The Meadows, as well as winning the Group 1 Brisbane Gold Cup.
“To this day Nellie Noodles is the best greyhound I have ever put a lead on.
“They were both honest and genuine race dogs, also very versatile over various distances’’
If it wasn’t for Symmetry’s stud career, Britton believes he could have continued his success on the track.
“As a 5 year old he was still trialling in 29.50 at Sandown, he could of still mixed it with the best towards the end of his racing career if it wasn’t for his stud duties’’.
Symmetry now has 23 litters next to his name, one of those under the guidance of Britton. That litter is just 16 months of age and their racing debut may not be too far away.
“I have one here that I bred myself, I’m very pleased with the way they are going”.
Symmetry is now standing at stud, $990 natural and $770 frozen, for more information click here. For further information please contact Rob Britton on 0429 381 623.
